He Leads me Beside Still Waters…

Psalm 23
A psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
2 He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams,
3 He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.
4 Even when I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me. NLT

If there is one description of the world today – we can say it is chaos! Everywhere we look established institutions and patterns are deviating from what we know – from time tested businesses to the weather – the earth and its’ citizens are experiencing chaos!

I heard this familiar passage from the Twenty-third Psalm not too long ago. A gentle reminder to me that thiis great God not only leads us away from the chaos, to the still waters, but then restores our soul so we can face the world again.

My heart rejoices this day when I think of the many, many times that the spirit of God has swept into my confusion and brought clarity to what seemed to be insurmountable problems! I am somewhat saddened by the many useless times I spent in worry and anxiety, fretting over things I couldn’t do anything about anyway – such a needless waste of time and enrgy. If we can put our energy in talking to our Father – and allow the Holy Spirit to do the work that is commissioned to Him – to be our Comforter, our teacher, our guide, our peace….

Today, allow the Holy Spirit to lead you – you will experience a place of beauty and rest that superseded any luxury vacation you could plan – and receive that peace that passes all man’s understanding – a gift that’s priceless in value.

God Bless You,
Maria

  1. Maria: This is a beautiful word and is so needful at this time in this world in whcih we live. You are a blessing and a beautiful daughter of your Heavenly Father. I love you. Peace be unto you in your body.

  2. Alice, these daily Words are such a blessing to your friends and family. Yes, the Lord will go “ahead of you and make straight everything” related to your operation. How perfect will your arm muscles (and others) be with the Holy Spirit “doing the work.”

    As a mother of many children as you, how true it is that we have been so worried and full of anxiety over the years in our efforts to raise up our family (raising UP is different from just raising). In spite of Phillipians 4 teaching that we should be anxious for nothing, we have “carried the load” (or tried to) for our children. But we have more wisdom today: The battle is not ours; it is the Lords!

    So when you remind us to let the Holy Spirit who dwells in us do the work–how perfectly and spiritually correct your are.
