Every day on this website I get a comment from a robot. I did not know what it was until I mentioned it to the webmaster and he told me. None of the words make sense – they are all jumbled up into very long and strange set of words that take up a lot of space and I have to delete them every day.
The strangest thing about this robot is that the only day he picks to respond to is Day 6 of The Twelve Days of Christmas. Since the robot is so fond of that day – I am going to reprint it on tomorrow. However, it made me think of this week’s messages on “favor” – that even though we may continuously mess up – have our issues – our growing pains – our tests and trials – and they seem to happen over and over again – we serve a nevertheless God who has promised that “though our sins be as scarlet – He will wash them white as snow.
But more than even washing away sins – when we really blow it and we look like we’ve missed God by a mile – we can take comfort in the scripture that says:
“For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime…” Psalm 30:5
As we close these messages on walking in favor with God – we can probably conjure up a dozen reasons why we should be able to claim favor with God and probably two dozen why we shouldn’t. But none of us can figure out for sure how this things works – all that we know, the best that we know is He is a “nevertheless” God, whose love reaches beyond all the best that is in us; in spite of the worst that is in us; to live in and have fellowship within us to make our lives glorious!
