Tomorrow I begin a new assignment – an opportunity that I prayed for – and after I gave up on it – and forgot about it – the door opened. Now that it has opened, it has caused me a great deal of apprehension, not the least of it is the timing of it. I consented to do it with a certain timeframe in mind, only to find out that due to a change in scheduling, I was a month off. This is my busiest time – the concerns have been mounting that I will not have enough time to meet all my deadlines! read more...

To The Elect Lady – And Her Children
In my forty years of going to church, I have heard at the very least 52X40 which equals 2080 sermons – going to church sometimes three or even more times a week – that’s a whole lot of Word! And to think o f it, that’s not counting the messages I heard on the radio, which I listened to daily for years – and the television which I also looked at daily for years! I have heard the preached Word in every fashion imaginable!
And yet, there are only a few messages that made such an impact on me that I remember everything about them – every detail about when and where it was given, how it was delivered, etc. Such was the time that I was home one Sunday morning and my daughter called me and told me to turn on the television and hear the word being preached by Bishop Eddie Long of Atlanta, Georgia. She was so excited – I immediately turned it on and the message I remember in detail. Let’s start with the scripture:
To the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all those who have known the truth, because of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever:
Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you[a] from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. @ Uohn 1-3
Now I could use all the enhancements in the world and still not convey even a hint into the way this message was preached – Bishop Long delivered this word! But I can say unequivocably that this message was a word in season for me! When he dramatically said the three words, Grace – mercy – peace be with you, I couldn’t help thinking then, and can’t help thinking now – what if everyone in our greeting said these three words:
Grace – unmerited favor to you -
Mercy – God’s special release from penalty of sins
peace – the gift that keeps you heart and mind amidst any crisis, in Christ Jesus!
And again I say to you:
Grace —–Mercy——Peace——
Grace
Mercy
Peace….
Keep saying it – why not pray it – for your loved ones, for your neighbors, for your friends – even for your enemies —pray grace, mercy, peace – it’s not just for the elect lady and her children – it’s for all God’s children!
God Bless You, On this Lord’s Day!
Maria
Something Beautiful!
I am still basking in the glory cloud that fell on us tonight at the Chosen Daughters of Destiny Conference which featured a night of worship and praise with Atmosphere of Heaven. All that I could think of was WOW! And even though there was a crowd of young ladies 10-24 there witnessing those who testified of a life changed by the gospel, it is but a drop in the mass numbers of young women who need to hear this message. Who need to know that there is help and there is hope in God! That they were made for a purpose – a purpose that will render them good and not evil; love not abuse; peace not torment. read more...
Perceiving God’s Plan!
All week we have looked at the term “perceive” and saw that it is more than a thought or a concept – it is actually a revelation of the head and the heart – that flows from God Himself! As we conclude our look at this word, it is fitting to see one of the greatest perceptions of all time. read more...
Perceiving the Spirit of a Man!
We all come into contact with all kinds of people. As this dispensation comes to an end, the scripture warns us that “men will become lovers of their own selves, heady, high-minded, etc, etc,” Many times we have communcation problems with people because the spirit of the person strives against our spirit and conflict arises. It is important to pray to know and perceive the spirit of the people that we have to relate to. Books like Dr. Gary Chapman’s Five Love Languages help us to understand the languages people operate in; very often experience will help us identify certain characteristics that help us relate to people – such as when you know people like compliments, or how some people like to have the floor all the time in a meeting, or a boss that may really be insecure that comes off harsh. read more...
Pray to Perceive!
There is another dimension to perception that goes beyond anything we can do in and of ourselves. The ability to perceive is something that must come from God Himself. We can see, we can hear, we even feel, and intuitively begin to understand; but we will never really begin to perceive a thing in its’ totality until the Holy Spirit removes the scales from our eyes and our hearts and allows us to “enter in” to the true dimension as God designed it. read more...
Perceiving Your Calling!
This week we are going to look at a simple word: to perceive. We found out on yesterday that to perceive is not something that we can obtain by instruction, like wisdom; rather it is something that involves the heart – things that we believe and embrace. Today we want to look at a familiar scripture that speaks of this term; the Proverbs 31 woman perceives something about herself that we should take note of: read more...
Trusting that Inner Voice
Recently I began to think of the word perceive. I believe I know what it means to perceive something – but to be sure I went to the dictionary and found these meanings:
1 a: to attain awareness or understanding of b: to regard as being such
2: to become aware of through the senses ; especially : see, observe (Merriam Webster Dictionary) read more...
