This is Part II of By Faith! We thank God for our guest author, Evangelist Darice – may God Bless Her for this wonderful reminder of Faith – and may He bless all of you with a quickening of your faith that will cause you to do great and mighty things in Jesus Name!
Faith is an activity that follows the confession the hope in God that we profess. And as it says in Hebrews 11:6 without faith it is impossible to please God. Without some demonstration, some activity that backs up your words or the beliefs you claim to have—it is impossible to please God. Why? Because faith in action brings about God’s will for our lives. Faith in Action brings about the manifestation of God’s kingdom on earth.
Without faith to WALK through the Red Sea, the Israelites would have never escaped the terror of the Pharaoh. You remember Daniel and the Hebrew boys? Without faith to STAND UP for God, lions mouths would have never been shut and fiery flames would have never been quenched. Without faith to OFFER UP a sacrifice, Abraham would have never discovered the ram in the bush and we would not be singing, Jehovah Jireh, My provider!
But wait a minute that was then. Fast forward!
By FAITH, Rosa Parks didn’t just sit down, she got up and she along with thousands of others walked for 381 days until the transportation system in the southern belt was forever changed!
By Faith, in Arkansas, the Little Rock Nine students and their parents faced insults and death threats and walked their black selves into a lily white school and said we too deserve a quality education!
But wait a minute. Wait a minute that was then. Fast Forward!
By FAITH, your grandmother decided it was time that the Browns and the Jacksons and the Washingtons (and them and us) be represented in the institutions of higher learning as scholars and not just as workers so she sacrificed and she put her desires on the back burner so that your future was in the forefront.
By FAITH your mother str-e-e-tched a dollar so that the friends you brought home from school or from the streets could eat at your table just like you could.
By FAITH—- in action.
And so it is, when I hear scriptures about faith rattled off in the context of producing second automobiles or bigger houses or loftier titles and positions, I wonder is this what “call those things that be not as though they were” is about—the things? Is “Now faith is the substance of things hope for”—about the things? Or is about an activity or action on our part that serves to bring about God’s will in the earth. Or is it about us remembering God’s daily presence in our lives and living in a manner pleasing to God as though we were on a heavenly plane; because we know that such a day is coming. So we walk; we live, by faith according to God’s plan for the world. According to the world as it should be and not according to the circumstances that surround us.
Thy Kingdom come!…Thy will be done!…By Faith!
