Will They See, What They Hear?

You go along day after day after day – you’re pressing your way – you’re doing the right thing – faithful, diligent, purposeful – yet you feel this overwhelming sense of being on a treadmill. You can’t feel God’s presence, you can’t hear His voice, you can’t determine if you should make a move to make something happen. You go to church, you pray, you read your Bible – and yet still you have these chains around you binding you from really being free. You settle it, this is a faith walk, if I can’t pray for my breakthrough, if I can’t shake it off, then I might as well just sit here and wait. But what do I do while I wait – should I pray in the spirit – should I fast – and then suddenly it comes to you – why don’t you just sing – it may be the latest gospel song you heard on the radio, or it may be one of the tried and true songs of Zion – but you sing –and just as suddenly as the thought came to you to sing – so the chains begin to fall off. You are so astounded, you don’t know what to do – deliverance has come – and yet it seems as if your deliverance might affect someone else – and cause them to be n distress. How does this story sound – ridiculous maybe – because you say – if God gives me a breakthrough I’m going to take it, it doesn’t matter what is happening to others around me. read more...

Thank you for the Glory!

One of the reasons that we present this post daily is to encourage the body of Christ and to let them know through this venue that there is help and hope in our God. Each post is based on a scripture or meditation that came from scripture to enable all of us to recognize that our struggles and pains as well as our joys and triumphs are a part of the Christian experience and God will meet us at both junctures. We are never alone; we are never without His all-seeing eye watching over us, leading us and guiding us even when it feels as if we are all alone. read more...

Mission Completed!

Right now I am facing a few challenges that seem impossible! In my finite understanding I don’t know how they will be accomplished. My faith says it is possible; my experience in some of these areas is full of disappointment and struggle, that makes me wonder whether it will happen as I hope. So I feel a little like I am facing “Mission Impossible!” read more...

Finding a Secret Place for My Family

Being an at-home mother for a number of years, I remember the many nights I would long for eight o’clock when I would send the children to bed. I am sure those of you who are parents, had at least one time when you wished your children could somehow magically skip to the adult years and go out on their own and leave your house! As much as we love our children, there are times when we all wish that we didn’t have to be parents! read more...

There is a Just God!

In my early years as a Christian when I read the story of Haggar, I was one mad sister. How could God allow Sarah to mistreat Haggar so when she was a seeming victim in this situation. When we look at the history of this scenario, Sarah told Abraham to sleep with Haggar and through her, Sarah could have a son. Haggar was Sarah’s maid – she didn’t have a voice in the matter! Abraham consented and did just what Sarah asked him to – and what happened – Haggar was with child – according to the plan. Now, I confess I could see Haggar walking around in pride because she was able to do something that her mistress could not do – conceive. But the punishment seemed to me (at least at that time) worst than the crime – Sarah told Abraham to get rid of her – and of course Abraham (who seemed to have convenient spinelessness at times (remember when he told Pharoh Sarai was his sister and she got sent to the harem?) – told Sarah to do with Haggar as she saw fit. read more...

What Do The Keys Open For Us?

On yesterday’s post we talked about the authority we receive when someone gives us keys – keys that can unlock a previously locked place or thing. We also saw in Mt. 16:19 that “we have been given the keys to the kingdom.” So what is the kingdom, what do we have access to, when we have these keys? read more...

Giving the Keys Gives Total Access!

Jesus came back, “God bless you, Simon, son of Jonah! You didn’t get that answer out of books or from teachers. My Father in heaven, God himself, let you in on this secret of who I really am. And now I’m going to tell you who you are, really are. You are Peter, a rock. This is the rock on which I will put together my church, a church so expansive with energy that not even the gates of hell will be able to keep it out.
“And that’s not all. You will have complete and free access to God’s kingdom, keys to open any and every door: no more barriers between heaven and earth, earth and heaven. A yes on earth is yes in heaven. A no on earth is no in heaven.”

You Don't Need Anything Else, When You Have Been Given Authority!

Jesus now called the Twelve and gave them authority and power to deal with all the demons and cure diseases. He commissioned them to preach the news of God’s kingdom and heal the sick. He said, “Don’t load yourselves up with equipment. Keep it simple; you are the equipment. And no luxury inns—get a modest place and be content there until you leave. If you’re not welcomed, leave town. Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and move on.”
Commissioned, they left. They traveled from town to town telling the latest news of God, the Message, and curing people everywhere they went.
