Shut the Door!

This morning I heard a Word – and it was not just a good preached Word – it was a Rhema Word for me! For the concerns that I left home with, were answered with this Word. This is the amazing thing about going to the church house, hearing a message from the preacher who is literally saying the very thing you talked to God about and clearly answering the questions you brought before the Lord!

Now I’m not going to share what my concerns or prayer request was because the message itself told me not to. Take a look at part of the text:

2 Kings 4:3-5 (King James Version)
3Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbors, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.
4And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee

and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.
5So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.

The prophet was clear – in order to see the provision – there was a need to “shut door” – which translated means – the world, the flesh, and the devil. When you want an answer from God – what’s on the other side of your door is NOT YOUR FRIEND! And if you think that only applied to the dramatic and deep instructions of the prophets – take a look at this:

Matthew 6:5-6 (King James Version)
5And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which sin secret shall reward thee openly.

The instruction is clear – SHUT THE DOOR! I got it! No more talking about this, no more worrying, no more lamenting – I’ve SHUT THE DOOR on that concern and from now – it’s between me and my Father – that is until He gives me the answer – after which I’m going to really give Him the glory!
