Your Sons and Daughters Will Prophesy…

Yesterday evening I was on my way to a calendar planning retreat for the Chosen Daughters of Destiny (for more info click on the link to the right of this page). It was one of those triple header days where I ran from meeting to meeting. Meetings at work, where one of the topics of discussion was the latest shooting of a student at a school our team visited. Then I went to a meeting to discuss plans for the Youth Rally Pro-Life/Pro-Family Coalition is co-hosting next week in Naperville, where one of the topics of discussion was how can we rally our teens who are living for God to feel less isolated and more a part of the extended family of God? I say all this to set the backdrop for one of the most painful events that I have witnessed in a long time. As I was driving down the street on the way to the retreat I noticed an abundance of police cars (about six) and looking over to see what the massive number of cars were responding to, I saw about eight –ten Black males sitting on the curb in hand-cuffs. I don’t know what they did – but whatever it was, they left home that morning possibly without a police record, and now for sure they had one! read more...

Can You Hear the Sound of Heaven?

I have to make a confession – I rarely watch the news. Story after story reveals the baser side of man and leaves me feeling a little hopeless. I don’t live in denial that the world is in the state is in – rather I choose to expend my energy and fill my spirit with the promises of God – the righteousness of God – the judgments of God – and yes the mercy of God. I heard a preacher say that we should never end a message – no matter how much we preach against sin, without a “nevertheless: – “nevertheless, though your sins be red like crimson, I will wash them whiter than snow.” read more...

Living Waters!

The body is an amazing creation. If we just took a moment to consider a few of the intricacies involved in how a life begins, that one cell that is fertilized with that one sperm, that multiplies and reproduces into such amazing parts – bone, muscle, tissue, skin, organs, hair, eyes, nose, nails, etc – I could go on and on and I guess because when I became with child, I knew immediately that something was occurring in my body – that I was in fact on assignment – that I am passionately Pro-Life! read more...

Kairos:The Time is Now!

If you are a frequent reader of Lifelines – you might have guessed by now that I have a love affair with the written word! i kind of think the spoken word is pretty powerful too, but I decided not to wait for opportunity to speak the word, instead I could write the word as God was giving it to me. Why? To encourage those in the body of Christ to pursue after their dreams – never to give up – to always believe that God is and because He is, He will! I have fully captured this concept of the God who was, and is, and is to come, deep within my being that I hope comes through my messages. read more...

Samson, Who Cut Your Hair?

All of us as Christians if we have been around any length of time are familiar with the phrase, “old-school,” “new-school,” a phrase we have come to know compares the more traditional church of past years to the present more contemporary church which has less spelled out rules and reg’s and emphasizes a lot of grace and mercy! Recognizing the need for grace and mercy – I rarely debate the topic (except with my family members) because it evokes too much emotion and I categorize it with those other unsolvable things mentioned in Titus3:9 (KJV) read more...

24-Hour Bug!

On Saturday I was hit with the “bug” – you know the one where you are doing fine one minute and the next minute you don’t know what hit you – chills, fever – stomach cramps, etc (enough graphics). Up all night – pain – wondering if it will ever go away – and then as quickly as it came – it goes! You can eat again – you can move again – you can begin to feel like a person again! read more...
