What is it to You?

I’m going to make confession and shame the devil. More than once, I have gotten stuck watching the lives of other people. More than once I have questioned God as to how so and so was getting away with such and such. More than once this has led to offense. People that are analytical always try to figure out the “why.” Even when it comes to our spiritual walk, even when we say we are going to live by faith, and keep our eyes on Jesus, we still look for patterns. We look for formulas. We look for examples!

I am going to be even more transparent and say that I have some things on my mind even right now. As long as they are not up in my face, I am fine. But when forced to look at the situation – it gets in my emotions – and I get a little confused. Make no mistake about it, confusion is of the devil! God is never confused, and if we are abiding in the vine, confusion should not be part of our life!

Feeling the need to “talk out” some of my issues, the answer came as I shared my quandry. A simple answer, not profound. God always speaks to me in scriptures and this is what He said:

John 21:21-23 (KJV)

21 Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, “But Lord, what about this man?”

22 Jesus said to him, “If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.” 23 Then this saying went out among the brethren that this disciple would not die. Yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but, “If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you?”

God was not playing with me. the message was quite clear – get over it! Move on! Follow me!

When I made the decision to do just that, it wasn’t by accident I’m sure that I read a devotional that cleared up a little of what concerned me. And then I heard Joyce Meyer preaching on offense which essentially gave me the same message. And then i opened up three more devotions that I read daily and they confirmed the message!

It is not that God does not want us to have answers. It is not that God isn’t concerned with our confusion, it is that He has something so much more for us, if we will trust Him! Getting stuck in a rut, wondering “why” will prevent us from moving forward to the glory that awaits us.

i got the message loud and clear and I’m determined to do just as Israel Houghton sings:

I’m not going back, I’m moving ahead, I’m here to declare to you, my past is over in Him, all things are made new, I’m moving, moving forward!”

God Bless You This Day!
Maria
