Teach Us to Number Our Days!
Yesterday I talked about my passion being driven by the passion I feel in my soulish realm. Though I discussed the negative possibilities of being “passion driven” – there is one thing that came to mind after I wrote the post. I heard the scripture from Psalm 90:12: read more...
Fear Not!
This year perhaps more than some others, my mind continues to return to the Prayer of Jabez: “Lord grant me increase, enlarge my territory.” This prayer does not just center on provision, but also influence. I have discovered that for many of us, we sometimes suffer lack because we have fear of the unknown; we stay in comfortable places that don’t present new challenges. And by staying close to the familiar, we fail to receive the provision that awaits us just past our comfort zone! read more...

Tell Somebody!
Nearly every morning i am awakened to the sound of birds chirping. Now that’s not unusual in the spring and summer, but what I have been amazed at is the number of birds that have remained through this long and cold winter and decided to grace my yard with their presence. So, this morning I put some bread crumbs in a plastic dish and went outside and put them in the tree by my deck. I didn’t wait to see what happened, but a couple of hours later I looked out and saw a squirrel had climbed the branches of this apple tree and was trying to get to the bread crumbs. There was a bird looking at the scene, but the bird remained perched on the branch. Finally the squirrel managed to get to the crumbs, but the weight of the squirrel knocked the bread crumbs down on the ground. Interestingly, the squirrel grabbed a big chunk of bread and climbed the tree to a high branch and ate its’ bread. It wasn’t long before I saw why. Apparently, one of the birds had gone to get all the birds in the neighborhood and soon there was a concert of birds happily eating bread crumbs! read more...

I Want To Go Where Everyone Knows My Name!
When i think of the church, my desire is to be “where everyone knows my name.” Now this may imply to some that I want to be such a much. No – rather, I prefer the intimacy of small fellowships – where strong relationships are developed. I can hear some of you saying right now – but in a place like that there may not be healthy relationships, and then your whole worship experience becomes messed up! read more...
Don't Get Weary!
Wen I was a young Christian, there was much talk concerning the “End Times.’ We watched movies like, “A Thief in the Night” and we argued over whether the rapture wuld be “pre-trib” or “post-trib” – all of us hoping that it would be pre! read more...

I Asked, He Answered!
I asked God for something the other day – something I couldn’t do for myself. It was a small, seemingly insignificant request – one that my world wouldn’t have ended, if it didn’t happen. And yet, God answered – in a way that I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt- it was Him! read more...
