It’s always wonderful when the sun shines brightly in the midst of winter. it’s like we get an opportunity to remember – that winter is only a season, and brighter days are ahead. I believe it is like that in our lives as well. Every now and then we get that bright, illuminating light coming into our lives, giving us clarity of purpose and unmistakable direction. How I cherish those moments.
Anyone who has been a Christian for any lenght of time knows that when the scripture declares, “the just shall live by faith,” that it is truly a description of what our journey is all sbout. In the beginning it used to feel like God wa purposely trying to withhold His plan and I spent many hours and sleepless nights trying to figure things out. I wanted to know how things were going to work out and I wanted to know RIGHT NOW!
Little by little the trust came, I began to believe that no matter how impossible it looked, that somehow things were going to work out. The stress level decreased, my faith increased, and I began to relax, at least a little. Sometimes the situation was not so much could God fix it, but would He fix it? Would He give me that house, would I really get that job?Sometimes the answer was “yes,” sometimes “no.” I discovered that it did not matter whether it was going to be a “yes” or a “no” – there were no hints, I had to wait it out!
Psalm 27:13-14 (KJV) says:)
13I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
14Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
This scripture does not say, wait on the Lord and He will bring everything to pass – no it says, “He shall strengthen thine heart.” And that is exactly what happens when you recognize that vs 13 comes before vs 14 – “when you actually believe that you will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living, when disappointments come, and the answer appears to be “no” – your heart is strengthened because you know, in your knower, that something better is on the way – becaue God loves you and wants was is best for you – and longs to do good for you.
You can only see this “on a clear day” – on a day when your heart is fully assured that the “Son always brings your life into the “sunshine of His glory!”
God Bless You,
Maria
