Today is the birthday of Jon Jones, to many known as J2. Jon is the happy husband of my youngest daughter, Rachel. Today Jon and Atmosphere of Heaven are leading worship at the ROCC in South Holland, Illinois. Below is a little about Jon and a little about Atmosphere of Heaven – and if you want to experience Atmosphere of Heaven – make your way to South Holland, to the ROCC at 7:30 p.m.
About J2:
The youngest child raised in a family of musicians, singers and songwriters, Jon has taken from each of his siblings to form his overall frame in music. His college training in Vocal Performance led him into singing with Vocal Group (C?Sharp/Consumed) for ten years and participating in ministry with notables such as Bishop Joseph Garlington, David & Nicole Binion, the late Milton Brunson (of the Thompson Community Singers), Tommy Tenney, Andrew Womack, Cynthia Nunn, Bishop Tudor Bismark, Kim Stratton and comedian Jonathan Slocumb.
For the past 15 years he has trained numerous choirs, praise teams and vocalist throughout the Chicagoland area. Jon has had the privilege to serve as the Music Director of MuzicNet School of Music, Dolton location as well as enjoy numerous recording and producing opportunities. Since 2003, Jon has been a member of Christian Life Center’s Worship Team (ServantsofPraise.org) and now serves as the Worship Director of Christian Life Center’s Tinley Park location. He exudes enthusiasm and intensity in worship and praise to the Almighty, and under the tutelage of his Worship Pastors (and mentors), he has come to the understanding that reputation is what one is thought to be by others, while character is who one is.
Atmosphere of Heaven!
Mission Statement:
Reconciling the body of Christ through the Word & music, overcoming all racial, gender, age and denominational barriers with an understanding that we were all called, created and uniquely gifted to reproduce the Atmosphere of Heaven on earth.
We Are:
A group of worship leaders with diverse musical background from diverse domination and cultures committed to changing the lives of other through the Word & song. Coming together with one passion our goal is to unite the Body of Christ across denominational, racial, gender, age, and every other wall that has been used to divide us! We believe that music is an integral part of this process. They are dedicated to developing musicians and singers, transforming them into minstrels and psalmist, committed to exuding the atmosphere of heaven wherever they go, and influencing transformation and reconciliation within their sphere of influence and beyond!
We are allowing God to work in us to produce a sound that draws diverse cultures, ethnicities, age groups, denominations, etc and brings all these people together to accomplish the plans and purposes of God, to draw men and women to the heart of God, and to initiate justice ( apprehending God’s disposition towards the broken..
