A Prisoner of Hope, A Friend to the Lost!

If the preacher tells you to turn to Acts 29 – you need to close your Bible and look around your church, examine what you’ve done lately in the Name of the Lord, and explore the latest on Christian television news.
For the Book of the Acts of the Apostles in the Bible that we read ends with Chapter 28 – Acts 29 is still being written, it is being written by us! read more...

Oh the Sweet Taste of Victory!

Last night on “The 700 Club” I heard Pat Robertson respond to a question that a listener had asked: if God could not protect Jesus from death on the cross, how could she trust Him to protect her? It was a question that few would tackle probably feeling that it borders on blasphemy. However Pat took it on and responded with all the great things that followed that death on the cross – the Resurrection, seated at the right hand of the Father, the redeemer of mankind, the head of the church, the soon to be ruler of all things – just to name a few! Isaiah 25:7-9 says it best: read more...

I’ve Seen This Before! Part II

When we began this thought, we realized immediately that it is much larger than one or even two days of delving into it. Most of what we classify as “trials and temptations” are things that we have seen before and for one reason or another didn’t deal with them, and instead of going away they come back with a vengeance.
This is exactly what scripture declares about people that come to Jesus to have their house washed and cleaned and then leave that house empty – and unoccupied: read more...

I’ve Seen This Before!

One of the things that I make a practice to do as I drive, particularly through unfamiliar places, is to look for markers that I can remember. I am privileged to have On-Star in my car, and I know how to use Mapquest – but for me marking the territory and planting places in my mind is my best defense to finding my ultimate destination. read more...

A Matter of Perspective – Part II

Is the glass half full, or is it half empty – for most of us, it’s a matter of perspective. Whatever the strongest inclination we have – be it positive or negative usually governs our response to that question. And that inclination is usually a result of the experiences we have had. What most of us don’t know is that it is also a result of generational attitudes and family perspectives. We have grown up looking through the world through lens that may have originated from our great-great-great grandparents! read more...

A Matter of Perspective!

God is dealing with me in this season to begin to look at familiar things from a new perspective. We have been graced with the opportunity in this season to be forgiven – to recognize how very much God loves us – and to realize that this love “covers” – it does not hold on to our sins and transgressions, as so many of us have a tendency to do. read more...
