Another shout out to MuzicNet for a great night of worship. William McDowell ushered us into the very throne room of God and I was amazed at what happened next…
Although I am not a musician or even musically inclined by gifting, I often hear God through music and song. I wake up many mornings with specific songs in my spirit that are often prophetic for the season I am in. Rarely however do I hear God speak to me directly through worship – it’s usually more me talking to God, than Him talking to me.
This was not the case on Thursday night while attending the Worship Service sponsored by MuzicNet with William McDowell. The theme of the evening (though undeclared) was withiout reservation how very much God loves us! As we were lifted higher and higher into the presence of the Lord, something changed – it was no more just listening to powerful music and melodic tunes – it was actually a conversation of God’s people to Him. There was then a declaration made to say “yes” – even before we knew the question – to say “yes” – to be what God wanted us to be, to do what God wanted us to do.
When William McDowell stated that we had all given God our “yes”, now we needed to know what we were saying “yes: to, we needed to have Him speak to us. There was a hush across the room as people listened intently to hear what God would say to them. I ddin’t know what to expect, would God speak to me? And muich to my amazement, He did.
I heard so clearly the Father tell me something that I would not have told myself – for He stated, “I have done what you wanted me to do for you, now you need to get on the Wall and seek me for what I want you to do for me.”
You would have to know how God and I have communicated this year to know what a timely word that was. I immediately knew what He meant – and if I had a doubt, I had just heard William McDowell talk about how much Westerners try to manipulate God into doing what they want Him to do. I am not exempt. I don’t mean to bargain with God, but if I would be totally honest, I have had it in the back of my mind – that some of my service was worth a few brownie points!
It was made so clear to the worshippers that God wants us to love Him, to serve Him, to obey Him, if He never gives us :those things’ we so desire. God wants us to want Him. And the paradox of course is when we resist seeking things, and seek God, then we have God, and we have all things!
Jesus told the Samaritan woman:
John 4:23
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
Help me Lord to be true!
Selah,
Maria
