Are you really ready for an upgrade? Part 3
It Takes Two Baby!
Hebrew 10:23 “Let us hold firmly to the hope that we have confessed, because we can trust God to do what he promised…”
I recall that at the very beginning of my marriage I made a declaration that I was going to be happy and my marriage was going to work. I was determined to have a successful marriage. Wes and I married at the age of 18 and 20, our marriage was a little speedier due to Kristen being on the way. Thanking God for always recognizing that it was His hand on our marriage, I made up in my mind that it was going to take two in order for us to make it. I recognized we came from two very strong family backgrounds, and although our parents struggled in their marriage, we made a decision that we were going to do our best to be happy, and stay together. On Sept16th 2010 we will celebrate 22years of marriage.
Now we take little credit of our own except the mercy and grace of God on our lives that we have been able to make it the first five years, when many said we wouldn’t make it, then the seven year itch that appears to be a common phrase amongst the world, and finally the 20 year toleration state that so many people choose to live in due to money, kids, and complacency. James Brown wrote a song “It’s cheaper to keep her”, Wes and I laugh about that and he has made that statement many times. Most times in the midst of a quarrel, I would say “well just divorce me then” His comment always “it’s cheaper to keep you” and we would always end in laughter.
It takes two baby, but not only husband and wife, but two meaning, the intimacy you have with our Heavenly Father. Our heavenly connection determines our daily joy and peace in our marriage. Man was Gods idea and so was marriage, so wouldn’t it make since to keep your relationship with the creator strong so that every intricate detail of your life will be strong. Are you ready for an Upgrade in your life, marriage, relationships, then you must recognize, IT TAKES TWO BABY! If you believe that you can make it on your own, you are deceived. Our very next breath and move should be dependent on our Daddy. He has never failed us or let us down. We may not understand all that comes in life and the paths we have to travel but if we recognize “It takes two Baby” then we can make it. Not only can we make it but we can have joy even in the midst of our journey, no matter what it brings.
So be encouraged today, and the next time you doubt , be reminded that IT TAKES TWO, You and your heavenly father walking down the path as He guides you, true worship and intimacy in your covenant relationship that you made with Him. Many couples say they made a covenant with each other, verbally yes, but the truth is your covenant was with the Heavenly Father. Yes you must recognize – IT TAKES TWO BABY! Then you will see the difference in every area of your life!

Wes and Neesha,
I have been richly blessed by reading what you two are posting this week. As a front line observer in your marriage, I want to acknowledge that every word that the two of you have written has been true in your lives.
Against All Odds – you CHOSE to make your marriage a covenant that would remain in place. It is with a heart of thanks to God and to both of you that you made that choice, for in so doing you ot only have been blseed, but your marriage has served as a plumbline that your sisters and brothers and so many others could look to.
Marriage is God’s design – His second order of relationship (His first was with Himself) – and how true the words – It Takes Two Baby!
Love you both and from a Mother’s heart Iwant you to know I am so grateful to God for the two of you!
God bless you and Congratulations Neesha and Wes. Love you.
Good reading!
