Is Your Assignment Over?

The moments of 2010 are drawing to a close. Most people want to make a fresh start – to begin anew – to start over – to make plans to do things differently. We vow to lose weight, to get organized, to keep up with family and firends. Some of us want to go to school, start a new business, resurrect an old dream. read more...

Home for Christmas!

A quick look at the news and we find that for many places in this country travel was hindered greatly by weather conditions this Christmas. Because I listen to Christmas music every day during the season, I have probably heard the song, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas (You can count on me…)” a hundred times or more. Home represents safety, home represents security, home represents love! read more...

On a Clear Day!

The words of an old song: “On a Clear Day, You can See Forever…”  As  I reflect on turbulence in athe atmosphere, I realize that the one area where we are often most affected by turbulence is in our abilityt o see clearly. I am reminded that one of the reasons we experience turbulence in the air while flying is because visibility is poor; elements in the atmosphere – wind, rain, clouds – difficult weather condidtions make it difficult to see, although planes fly on auto pilot – they still need someone to steer the plane when severe atmospheric conditions try to take over! read more...

Turbulence in the Atmosphere!

Quite often I hear a term in my spirit that I am not familiar with. I have to go to the encylopedia or dictionary to look it up and sometimes I spend a little time trying to understand it. It was easy to make the statement, but it wasn’t until I really experienced turbulence last night that I took the time to look it up and see what it meant. read more...

That They May See!

We always hear from the pulpit that we need to pray the Word! Sometimes I confess I have been a little concerned about praying the Word in regards other people. Our Father has given to mankind the gift of free will. We have the right (and the privilege) of deciding for ourselves whether we will include Him in our lives. Imagine that, the God of all Creation affords us the decision whether we will acknowledge Him – or not! read more...

Emmanuel!

20-23While he was trying to figure a way out, he had a dream. God’s angel spoke in the dream: “Joseph, son of David, don’t hesitate to get married. Mary’s pregnancy is Spirit-conceived. God’s Holy Spirit has made her pregnant. She will bring a son to birth, and when she does, you, Joseph, will name him Jesus—’God saves’—because he will save his people from their sins.” This would bring the prophet’s embryonic sermon to full term: read more...

Unfinished Business!

Yesterday  I completed a task I had been working on for nearly a month – it felt good to be able to cross that off my “To Do” list. Unfortunately, I have quite a list left of tasks that must be completed – and completed soon. As I thought on this I was reminded of some scriptures: read more...

Course Correction!

Have you ever been on a journey when you were going in one direction, and after continuing on for many blocks or even miles you realized you were not going in the right direction – what did you do -if you were smart, you made a course correction! You stopped going on the course you were on – and made the necessary adjustments (which in most cases means turning around, going back the distance you went wrong, and starting over) to get on the correct course! read more...
