Did God Say? Part II

Today we continue looking at how we should combat the work of the enemy who always come to “rob, steal, and destroy.” If we recognize that we are in a warfare for the things that we believe, than we know that the greatest weapon that our adversary can use is the weapon of unbelief! He comes to make us doubt either that God said it, or that we heard God say it. We make our fight so much easier when we are armed with the proper tools, and of course within the sixty-six books of the Bible we have all the tools we need to conquer any foe. read more...

Did God Say?

Praise God – once more and again He showed up and showed out and the combined Chosen Daughters of Destiny, HeartLife Ministries and Kings Kid International Family Conference was a blessed event. Our specail thanks to all who prayed, payed, and stayed! Last week we spoke of something we learned as we prepared for the conference and this week we want to share some fresh bread – right out of the oven (literally)! read more...

Lessons Earned!

All of us who have been preparing for our conference have of course been presented with unusual challenges. This unwelcome activity from the enemy is not a surprise, but this time I began to understand the attacks for what they really are. Everything in life presents choices. You can receive the blessin’ in the lesson and use it to navigate your way through this life in a greater way, or you can let the things that come to try you fade from your memory and continue on not recognizing that in fact God  does know: read more...

Where is Your ID?

The theme of this year’s Chosen Daughters of Destiny Conference is “Where is Your ID?” Countless millions of people are wandering around trying to determine who they are, what they are here on this planet for, and what will happen to them in the next life. The recent pronouncement that the world would end on a certain date obviously caused more than one person to be disconcerted, otherwise it would not have attracted so much attention. These are real questions and they deserve real answers and contrary to what many people feel, God has given those answers. Many of them are found in His Word, but for each individual there is a pre-determined destiny that God longs to share. He does not want us to live our lives in the dark, after all the first thing God made was light! read more...

My Little Children…

As I began my day today I thought of the Apostle John and the way he ministered to those under his watchcare. As you read the first, second, and third epistles of John you see strong admonition as to what it really means to live the Christian life and yet each chapter is written with such love. He truly was the Apostle of love! Each word is a gentle reminder of such powerful truth, and yet it is “so easily entreated” – you can’t get mad at it. Even his salutations expressing his connection with them, “my little children” – spoke of the love relationship He had learned at the feet of Jesus! Being one who has a tendency to come across stern and serious, I have worked over the years to develop a kinder, gentler side – and even though there is work still to be done on the outside, in my heart I so understand the words of the Apostle John and my heart attempts to convey this to those God sends my way. I know the King James version has a much more melodious ring to it, but for clarity I want to share 1 John 2: 27-30 from The Message: read more...

Be Nice to Everybody!

I remember hearing every Sunday the words of a preacher from the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana. I don’t remember his name, but his legacy continues with me, as I still hear him saying, “Be nice to everybody, for everybody’s having a tough time.” Allthough you may be in a season of “good and plenty” – it’s for sure if you keep living, challenging times will come. I’ve remembered that over the years, and it has made me back down when the haughty and arrogant tried to take center stage. As we continue looking at 1 Thessalonians 5 in The Message translation, words very similar to the above were written by the Apostle Paul: read more...
