I can remember once that the expression, ” the lazy, hazy days of summer” was true for me. This year has not been the case. Although I tend to stay up later since I don’t have to get up and go to work, once I get up – every day has been an adventure. But even more than an adventure it has been an intense boot camp in the spirit – where the Holy Spirit has had me in a time of introspection, reflection, and assesssment. In addition to what I have been hearing, it seems as if the Holy Spirit has been doing the same with many of the people in my life space. As we have shared, the rich treasures of revelation have been just like “honey from the honeycomb.” read more...

Guard the Walls!
One of the biggest problems facing this nation today is that we are all victims of the freedom that we enjoy. Although that may sound like an oxymoron, but give me a chance to explain. Most of us in this great nation go to bed in safety, feeling secure that we will sleep through the night in peace. We go to the store, to our jobs, to restaurants, and places of recreation with no fear – we trust the government, we trust the police, we trust our military to keep watch over our city, over our nation. This is a good thing, but it does have a side effect that can be dangerous. Our very confidence in what we hold dear may lull us into a false sense of security wherein we feel as if all is well and we don’t have to keep watch, we don’t have to stand guard over the very blessings that have come from being in the land of the free and the home of the brave! read more...
God is Always at Work!
Today I heard of another friend who has lost their job. There are too many indications that the recession we have been experiencing is not over! This gives to know that we are living in a great time. When long standing positions and responsibilities falter and fail – it brings forth the opportunity for new things to come forth! Just as in the fall when falling leaves give way to dry branches, God who never ceases to work, even in the winters of our lives, shows us in the spring that all the time He was at work, suddenly out come new blossoms of growth! read more...
How Do You Make the Connections?
I have a teacher friend who has always been one of those people who went above and beyond in her classroom. She would create such vivid scenarios that the elementary students that she taught were able to really become a part of the lesson. But she would not stop there – when they were studying different cultures she would have a feast where the students and their parents would bring food from different parts of the world so that they could experience a little bit of those cultures that they studied. But then, she didn’t stop there – she would actually take the students to different events and restaurants so they could actually be a part of a different cutlure. Since she has retired as a public school teacher, she has given that same level of passion to the student teachers she has supervised over the past year. read more...
Remembering…
Yesterday as I drove through the streets of my city and passed by other villages as I went about my business I saw a marvelous display of families enjoying the fourth of July celebrations. It was a marvelous sight, particularly as the day turned to dusk and families gathered everywhere to enjoy the fireworks. It rememinded me of how good it is to remember! read more...
True Liberty!
Today we celebrate as a nation the day of independence! The United States of America became free from the control and government of another nation. The liberty bell rang – the people rejoiced – a new nation conceived on an ideal of freedom that had not been tried quite this way before. This nation, although not perfect, still stands as a beacon of hope for oprressed people everywhere. read more...

Where Is Your Focus?
The other day I went to a prayer meeting and while we were there active sharing took place. It didn’t sound like anyone in the room had an abundance of financial resources – (even those who once did seemed to be under attack in their finances) and yet, after sharing testimonies of the many wonderful things God was doing in their lives – we all left the meeting feeling very wealthy, for we had heard of the great love of our Father, and the many things He was doing in the lives of those present – even with no huge bank accounts! read more...
