Get Unplugged!

We find in this busy life that it is necessary to unplug from all of the noise and begin to have a different ear.  An ear to hear what the spirit is saying.  I don’t always take the oppurtunity to write, however when I do I find I have to unplug from all of the noise around me to hear what God wants me to share. read more...

In Remembrance…

This morning one of my sons reminded me of where he was on 9/11 – not a hero at
Ground Zero – not even a volunteer going through the rubbish. Instead he spoke
of where he was then as a backsliden rebel – running as far away as he could
from home and God. Today, ten years later, it is a different story – he has got
his life together on many, many levels, most important of all – he renewed his
relationship with the Father. He loves God and true to his nature, he loves
people and wants to serve them. Last evening he spoke of wanting to begin to
prepare “messages” properly -  he has been preaching, he wants to learn how to do it more effectively! read more...

Be Careful How You Harvest!`

Relationships of any kind can at best be difficult sometiimes. In this world of exposure, it is so easy to mark people by what we see or what we come to know about them. There is no one sacred to the media – everything that can be uncovered about our celebrities, politicians, and other people in the limelight is spread across the news via every possible form of communication, newspapers, magazines, facebook, twitter, radio , television – you name it – the most shameful secrets become commonplace knowledge – with no regard as to the many lives that it affects. read more...

Royal Family – part II

Yesterday we looked at the advantages, the responsibilities, and the challenges of being a member of the royal family of the Lord Jesus Christ. Just like earthly royal families who attain a great deal of notoriety, so too, we in the royal family of Jesus Christ also stand out above the crowd: read more...

Being in the Royal Family!

Since the world viewed the royal wedding a few months ago of Prince Phillip and Katherine – we saw first hand the “ups” and “downs of the lives of the privileged! There are many advantages to being born in a royal family, but as the world has seen the real and dramatic portrayals of the courtship and subsequent marriage of this couple, it was brought to the clear light of day that there are certain respnsibilities that go with that privilege and even some disadvantages. read more...

It Will Become Clear!

I have decided to take this month and every day read one of the Proverbs. The Proverbs are so rich in giving instruction and wise counsel – and so plain, only a “fooll” could fail to understand them. However one thing that was pointed out to me yesterday in our Sunday School class by the teacher, who is a “wise and learned” teacher in his own right, is that the Proverbs are not promises, they are principles. They provide clear truth and instruction, but they are not guarantees. So we have a Proverb 222:6, “Train up a child  in the way that he should go, and when he is old he will not depart” – to make this a guarantee would violate another one of the priinciples inherent in God’s Word – that of “free will”. It has certainly been proven scientifically, that for the most part children tend to follow the same “bent” as their parents, even if they are separated from their parents. Genetic influence can often be stronger than environmental influence. However, there are those exceptions which defy the scientific, psychological and even religious communities, that for the wise will place us smack dab in the center of, “God, You alone know”! Herein is the beginning and end of wisdom: read more...

LOL!

Most of us have heard the saying, “Stop telling the devil how big your problems are, and start telling him how big your God is.” This describes exactly what Elijah did in 1 Kings 18 (AMP) when he confronted the God of Baal before Ahab and all Israel who gathered at Mt. Carmel: read more...

Wisdom says, “Prepare!”

Although our mission at HeartLife is not political in nature,  we do no exist in a vacuum – we not only live and have  our being in God, we live and have our person in this country! As the people of God, we are neither exempt from the natural calamaties of this earth, or the political calamaties of the nation that we live in. It is no different for us now then it was for the Elijah during the days of Ahab and Jezebel. In 1 Kings 18 we find two very familiar stories, one concerning fire and one concering rain. We’re going to look at the latter today and the first story on tomorrow. read more...
