It’s the MOST Wonderful Time of the Year!

We are once again approaching my favorite time of the year! Already the sounds of the season are flooding my home and my car! I absolutely love Christmas! I love the songs, the lights, the tinsel, I love the way that many people change – I believe a special anointing is poured out from heaven above and all people, everywhere are affected by it. For those of you who have been with us from the onset of this website, you may remember that it was birthed at Christmas, with”The Twelve Days of Christmas”! In December, 2008, the Holy Spirit impressed upon me to do something different – to take my pulpit to the worldwide web! I finally realized that every preacher didn’t need a pulpit – the airways were free and the congregation would be the “whosoever will”! How we thank God for you, the “whosoever that come”! Here we are three years later, nearly eight hundred posts – we have a grateful heart! read more...

11-11-11!

Today is a day that has never been before and will never be again. All the number line up – day, month, year – amazing! We had that last year with the 10-10-10. Many people looked upon that day with great expectation and there was an increase of marriages and other special events on that day. There has been some talk about how special this day is going to be – we’ll just have to see how it unfolds. read more...

The Holy Spirit is Up to Something…

As we continue the conversation raised by Avery Kyle in regards Modern Man – I want to pause today to let you know what the Holy Spirit has placed upon my heart. Many of you responded positively to the discussion with your comments, e-mails, and phone calls; and what I began to hear clearly that this was more than an opportunity to join a conversation, it is an opportunity to join a move of God! read more...

Daylight SAVINGS Time!

Yesterday was Daylight Savings Time in the Midwest. Being fall, we set our clocks back (spring we go forward). This provides more light in the day even though the days are getting shorter as winter approaches. I also heard on yesterday that the city of Highland, Michigan was forced to turn off their street lights because they could no longer afford to pay the electric bill. This once booming city – is now crowded in darkness! read more...

Modern Man by Avery Kyle

Editors Note:
Today we are posting a piece written by a young man who has something on his mind. It might be a question you have thought of too – if so, please make use of the comments section to let us know what you think about this very timely topic. Enjoy!
The other day I was s watching the 1960′s tv program “The Andy Griffith Show”. As the theme song played and the announcer introduced the show there is a scene of Andy and his son walking down an old dirt road carrying fishing polls.  if you have ever seen the show you know this is one of their father and son moments.  Andy spends quality time  with his son valuable life lessons and what it means to be a man.
As I was watching,  it occured to me that for centuries this is the way manhood is expected to be pass on (father to son or man to boy).  So what is to happen now?  Since, as in my own life, men are so noticably missing from the home or have an old or misguided understanding of what manhood really is.  In todays culture women have become very independent and men are no longer needed for the same reasons and role he once was.  There was a time when a mans job was simply to provide food, shelter and protection.  But now women can provide these things just as well as a man.  it’s not like someone has to go out and hunt for food or do back breaking work in he fields.  We are know longer cutting down trees or making huts of mud and straw.  As far as protection anyone can just pick up the phone and dial 911.
These cultural changes have confused men in the social and political arena as well.  Socially men are expected to treat women as equals  to be coutious and kind.  At the same time if we complement her dress we can loose our job.  men are legally required to financially provide for their children, but cases women have let them off the hook of responsabilityby not reporting the travisty.  if they do decide to report it the governmental agencies dont find it cost effective to find and procecute most of these individuals.
Can we really expect a different outcome for men with the cultural changes that have taken place?  Why are males not assuming responsabillity with the same fast pace change of our culture?  Should we raise our modern young men with the same traditional roles or with the understanding that our culture is continueally changing.
MORE TO COME SOON…..PEACE!
Avery Kyle

Speak, I’m Your Servant, Ready to Listen!

The last couple of days I have shared some personal messages the Holy Spirit has been giving me. God is speaking all the time. Many times because we don’t want to hear what He has to say, we pretend as if He is not. All of us say we are “A Friend of God” , but we want to set the parameters of that friendship. We have all heard the expression, “a real friend will tell you the truth” – yet, how many of us appreciate those kinds of friends? read more...
