Those of who are employed or have been employed recognize one thing above all – the more time you put in a place, the more you become interested in what is going on at that place. In addition, it is just human nature to believe that longevity has its’ rewards. When its’ time for a lay-off the natural assumption is that those who came last, who be the first to be laid off. What we are seeing on a daily basis is, that is not necessarily so. We are also seeing that in the financial sector at-large where people who have annuities, stocks, bonds, etc – lost thousands, sometimes millions of their life investments when the market began to fall. This may be true in the world system, but it is not true in the Kingdom. The more you invest in walking with God, the more dividends you reap – albeit they may not all be tangible. read more...

When I became a Christian I don’t think it was said outright, but the translation for me was – get saved and all your problems will be over, now—and forever! You can imagine my surprise when the honeymoon faze was over and I discovered that I was on a roller coaster ride where every stop appeared to be worst than the first. I had problems as an unbeliever living in the world, but I expected them – everybody had trouble. I did not expect life to be so difficult as a Christian, I had in my mind that every day was going to be sunny and life was going to be a walk in the park for, after all, Jesus paid it all! read more...

Lately, I have been involved in conversations concerning annuities, life insurance, trusts, etc. It had me look at a few papers of my own. For one retirement plan that I have, because I only worked part-time and only for a few years, I noticed in the explanation that I was not “vested”, and in another section it told me what I would have to do to become “vested”. This brought to my mind how important it is to understand certain legalities before you approach your “seasoned years”. read more...
